What happens during the free assessment at PEAK Athletic Conditioning?
1
The free assessment is the starting point for every new client at PEAK Athletic Conditioning in Troy, MI.
We'll walk through your goals, training history, and any physical limitations. From there, you'll go through a movement assessment so we can see how your body actually moves, not just what you say you can do. Based on that, we'll outline exactly what a structured program would look like for you and what it will realistically take to get results.
There's no sales pressure. You'll leave with a clear picture of where you are and a specific path forward, whether you decide to work with us or not.
What makes 1-on-1 personal training more effective than group fitness classes?
2
In a group class, the workout is designed for everyone, which means it's optimized for no one. You're following a generalized program regardless of your fitness level, movement limitations, or how your body is responding that day.
At PEAK, your program is built specifically for you and adjusted in real time based on your progress, performance, and recovery. That individualized attention also means a higher level of injury prevention—group fitness environments are a common source of overuse injuries and poor movement patterns that go uncorrected simply because no one is watching your form. With 1-on-1 training, those issues get caught and addressed before they become setbacks.
The result is faster progress, fewer injuries, and a program that actually fits your body.
Is personal training worth it if I've already tried to get results on my own?
3
Yes! And the fact that you've already tried is actually a strong indicator that working with a coach will make a significant difference.
Most people don't fail because they lack effort. They fail because they lack structure, progression, and accountability. Without those three things, effort alone produces inconsistent results.
At PEAK, we remove the guesswork. You get a clear, progressive system built around you, and when that's in place, results stop being random and start becoming predictable.

Do you offer personal training for beginners, athletes, and busy professionals?
Do I need to already be in shape before starting personal training?
4
No, and that's exactly why most people start.
You don't need to prepare for a personal trainer. Our job is to meet you where you are right now and build a program that's realistic and sustainable from day one. Whether you're brand new to training, returning after time off, or managing physical limitations, everything is scaled to your current level.
How quickly will I see results from a personalized training program?
5
What does a typical personal training program at PEAK include?
Can personal training help with injuries, pain, or post-physical therapy recovery?
Most clients start feeling better within the first one to two weeks. Noticeable physical changes typically follow within two to six weeks—though that timeline depends heavily on one variable: nutrition.
Training creates the stimulus for change. Nutrition is what allows your body to respond to it. Clients who have their eating dialed in alongside their training program see results significantly faster than those who don't. We address both sides at PEAK, which is a large part of why our clients see progress where other approaches haven't delivered.
Long-term results come from consistency, but with the right structure in place, that consistency is much easier to maintain.
At PEAK, everything is fully guided, you’re not handed a workout plan and left on your own.
Each session is coached 1-on-1, with your training adjusted in real time based on your progress and how your body is responding.
On the nutrition side, you’ll receive structured guidance along with ongoing support and regular check-ins to keep things aligned with your goals.
The goal is to take the guesswork off your plate and give you a clear, professional process that actually works.
Yes! When done correctly, training should reduce pain, not create it.
We regularly work with clients coming out of physical therapy or dealing with chronic issues. The key is proper exercise selection, controlled progression, and attention to movement quality.
Our approach is to rebuild strength and stability in a way that supports long-term function, not just short-term relief.
Yes. Every client’s path is customized, so the approach changes based on who you are and what you need.
Some clients are just getting started and need structure and consistency. Others are athletes looking to improve performance. Many are busy professionals who need an efficient, results-driven system that fits into a tight schedule.
The common factor is that everything is built around the individual, not a template.
